RiverHawks Announce 2026-27 Men's Basketball Schedule

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State men's basketball has announced its 2026-27 schedule, featuring 28 regular-season games, 14 home contests and a pair of rivalry matchups at the NSU Event Center to close the regular season.

The RiverHawks open the season Nov. 13-14 in Tulsa, facing Texas A&M-Kingsville and Henderson State at Union High School on consecutive nights before returning home for the first of four November home games.

NSU opens its home schedule Nov. 17 against Arkansas Tech before traveling to Arkansas-Monticello on Nov. 21.

NIKE N7 NIGHT

One of the early-season highlights comes Nov. 23, when the RiverHawks host Haskell at 6 p.m. for Nike N7 Night at the NSU Event Center.

The RiverHawks will then host Northwest Missouri on Nov. 27 and Missouri Western on Nov. 29 to wrap up the November home slate.

NSU begins December with road contests at Nebraska-Kearney on Dec. 3 and Fort Hays State on Dec. 5.

BACK TO JACK DOBBINS

The RiverHawks return to Jack Dobbins Field House on Dec. 12, hosting Ecclesia at 7 p.m. The special home contest provides a return to one of the historic venues associated with Northeastern State basketball.

NSU then closes the calendar year with road games at Washburn on Dec. 17 and Central Missouri on Dec. 19.

The RiverHawks open the new year at home against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Jan. 2 before hosting Newman on Jan. 7 and Emporia State on Jan. 9.

RIVALRY RUN-IN

The second half of the schedule features several key MIAA matchups, including road trips to Rogers State on Jan. 13 and Central Oklahoma on Jan. 16.

The RiverHawks will then return home for a three-game stretch against Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern and Central Missouri before making another road swing through Missouri and Kansas.

The regular-season finale will feature a pair of rivalry games at home.

Northeastern State hosts Rogers State on Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m., followed by Central Oklahoma on Feb. 27 at 3:30 p.m. to close the regular season at the NSU Event Center.

The 2026-27 schedule gives the RiverHawks a balanced mix of non-conference competition, MIAA play, special-event home games, and two of the program's most anticipated rivalry matchups to finish the regular season.

Feb. 24: vs. Rogers State – 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 27: vs. Central Oklahoma – 3:30 p.m.
