NORTHEASTERN STATE – A returning letterwinner . . . owns a career 2-3 record and a 7.49 ERA in 39.2 IP . . . also has 42 career strikeouts and two saves . . . both saves came against Missouri Southern State (May 6, 2016 & May 8, 2016) . . . longest career outing of 5.2 innings came against both Northwestern Oklahoma State (Feb. 12, 2016) and Washburn (March 5, 2016) . . . also struck out a career-high eight batters against NWOSU . . . transferred to NSU after spending time at both Southern Arkansas University (Magnolia, Arkansas) and Panola College (Carthage, Texas).
 
Junior (2016) – Made 17 appearances and seven starts on the mound in his first season at Northeastern State . . . threw 39.2 innings and compiled a 2-3 record and a 7.49 ERA . . . struck out 42 and allowed 33 earned runs . . . had a pair of saves in back-to-back appearances against Missouri Southern State . . . picked up wins against East Central and Central Missouri . . . longest outing of the year (5.2 IP) and most strikeouts (8) both came against Northwestern Oklahoma State . . . also pitched 5.2 frames and tallied six K’s against Washburn.
 
Panola College (2015) – Competed for the Ponies for one year . . . PC competes at the NJCAA Division I level and are members of the Region XIV Athletic Conference . . . tallied a 15.32 ERA across 12.1 innings on the mound . . . made 11 appearances and had 11 K’s to go along with 21 earned runs and 10 walks allowed . . . named to the Dean’s List.
 
Southern Arkansas University (2013-14) – Was a member of the team for two seasons . . . competed as a true freshman in 2013 and sat out the 2014 campaign . . . the Muleriders are members of the Great American Conference and compete at the NCAA Division II level . . . made three appearances and finished with a 13.50 ERA in 2.0 IP . . . had one strikeout, while allowing two hits, three runs and one walk.
 
High School – Helped lead Smackover HS to the state championship finals in Arkansas once . . . also played for the Sandlot Sox in Jupiter, Florida.
 
Personal – Majoring in supply chain management . . . son of Denise Yancey . . . full name is Tyler Yancey Cornwell . . . born Feb. 14, 1994.
