David Weber

The 2016 season will be the second for David Weber as a graduate assistant coach with the Northeastern State baseball program. He assists with the batters, while also helping with outfielders and catchers.

Weber served as a volunteer GA with the team in 2015 before being promoted for the 2016 campaign.

The Fort Walton Beach, Florida, native enjoyed a successful two-year career as a member of the RiverHawks, which included a memorable run to the 2014 MIAA Championship semifinals. He served as captain his senior year, and he helped lead the team to its first back-to-back postseason appearances since 1999-00.

He was an All-MIAA Third Team honoree in 2014, and he was also a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll (2013-14). The utility player started games at catcher, left field, center field, right field, second base and DH during his career.

He played in 104 career games and made 99 starts in two seasons. He posted a .318 batting average (115-for-362) to go along with 74 runs scored, 19 doubles, four triples, three home runs, 58 RBI and eight stolen bases. He also tallied a career .975 fielding percentage (284 putouts, 23 assists, eight errors).

Weber graduated from NSU in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and human performance. He is currently working toward a masters degree in health and kinesiology.
