Kyle Williams

The 2026 season will be Kyle Williams' first season at Northeastern State.

Williams most recently served as the head coach at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, an NCAA Division II program in the Lone Star Conference, for six seasons.

Despite limited resources, Williams oversaw steady performance at Cameron, with increases in doubles, home runs and on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS). He led the program's community engagement efforts in the Lawton-Fort Sill area, totaling over 400 hours annually, and raised nearly $200,000 for facility and equipment improvements. Under his leadership, the team's GPA rose from 2.47 in his first year to 3.14 in 2024.

On the field, Williams coached 14 All-LSC selections and had a player earn National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Hitter of the Week honors to open the 2025 season.

He served as an assistant coach at Cameron in 2019 before being promoted, helping guide the program to its first postseason appearance since 2011.

Prior to Cameron, Williams spent six years as assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri. During his time there, the program won 262 games, earned its first No. 1 national ranking in 2013, and captured Region XVI championships in 2014 and 2017. In 2017, Crowder made a trip to the NJCAA World Series.

Specializing in catchers, hitters and offensive strategy, Williams oversaw an offense that set back-to-back individual home run records and ranked among the top 10 nationally in 2017. He coached the 2014 NJCAA Division I Gold Glove catcher and the 2017 Region XVI Defensive Player of the Year. Under his guidance, 40 players advanced to Division I or II programs, including seven catchers who earned starting roles, and 11 players were selected in the MLB Draft. Two were named All-Americans, and 27 earned All-Region honors. As study hall monitor, he also helped maintain a 95% graduation rate at Crowder.

Williams earned an associate degree from Crowder College, a bachelor's in general studies from Drury University, and a master's in educational and counseling psychology with an emphasis in positive coaching from the University of Missouri.
