Williams’ impact was immediate. Taking over a program in need of new direction during the challenges of the COVID-19 era, he led the Aggies to steady improvement in every facet of the game. Under his leadership, Cameron's offense and pitching staffs consistently ranked among the league's top half, and the program reached new competitive milestones. In 2024, the Aggies posted their highest win total since 2016, leading the conference in home runs and finishing fourth in total bases, while the pitching staff lowered its ERA by two full runs and improved in both strikeouts and walks allowed. Defensively, Cameron achieved its best conference fielding finish in over a decade. Off the field, Williams emphasized academic success and community engagement. During his time at Cameron, the baseball program logged over 350 community service hours annually and saw 46 players earn their degrees every senior who spent more than one year in the program graduated.

Williams was the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Cameron for one season in 2019. The 2019 Aggies went from last in the conference and missing the postseason to play in the conference championship, largely in part to offensive improvements which included 2nd most XBH in the conference as well as a 35% increase in total offense.

Before his time at Cameron, Williams spent six years as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Crowder College (Mo.), where he helped the Roughriders win 262 games, claim two Region XVI Championships (2014, 2017), and reach the NJCAA World Series. His offensive systems and player development approach produced record-breaking hitters, multiple All-Americans, and 11 MLB Draft selections. Kyle recruited current MLB All-Star candidate Aaron Ashby as well as Sam Hilliard who is turning in his own All-Star campaign in Japan after spending parts of the last 8 seasons in the MLB.

A Springfield, Missouri native, Williams holds an Associate of Arts from Crowder College, a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from Drury University, and a Master's degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri.

Coach Williams now brings his player-first philosophy, championship experience, and proven track record of program development to Northeastern State University, where he looks to build the RiverHawks into one of the premier programs in the MIAA and NCAA Division II baseball.
