Robbie Rea

The 2017 season is the second for Robbie Rea as the top assistant coach for the Northeastern State baseball program. He serves as the hitting coach, and he also assists with infielders.

Prior to his arrival in Tahlequah, Rea spent the 2015 season as an assistant coach at Cowley County Community College. CCCC posted a 54-5 record and was ranked No. 1 in the nation most of the year. The Tigers won both the sub-regional and conference championships, while finishing runners-up in the region. He coached Garrett Benge at CCCC, who was honored as the NJCAA Player of the Year.

Rea served as head coach for the Havasu Fire summer league team in 2015. He coached third base and oversaw gameday decisions.

Rea was a two-year starter at Oklahoma State University. He was an All-Big 12 Second Team performer and an Academic All-Big 12 honoree. Prior to competing for the Cowboys, he played at CCCC where he was named a third-team All-American sophomore year.

The Topeka, Kansas, native was a four-year letterwinner at Seaman High School. The three-time all-state performer was honored as the Kansas Player of the Year as a junior and the Kansas Pitcher of the Year as a senior. He also lettered three times in both football and basketball.

Rea graduated from OSU in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.
