Jacques Washington is serving in his first season as a graduate assistant with the NSU football program. His main responsibility includes coaching the cornerbacks.
He came to Tahlequah following a one-year stint at his alma mater, Owasso High School. He helped lead the Rams to a 9-1 record, which tied for the best mark in school history. He also served as a volunteer linebacker coach for one season at his colliegate alma mater, Iowa State University.
Washington was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Cyclones and helped the team reach three bowl games. He served as team captain and also received two All-Big 12 accolades during his career.
Following his collegiate career, Washington was invited to NFL training camps for both the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins. In 2015, he played defensive back for the Ottawa Redblacks in the CFL and helped the team reach the Grey Cup championship game.Â
The Owasso, Oklahoma played at OHS from 2007-09, leading the Rams in rushing in both his junior and senior years.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2013 from ISU and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in kinesiology from Northeastern State.

He is the son of Haywood and Jackie Washington, and he is the brother of Mathais, Lee and KingJack.
