Marvin Bohannon is in his fourth season at Northeastern State. He served as a graduate assistant in 2014 and was promoted to full-time assistant prior to the 2015 campaign. Â He coaches the defensive backs.Â
The Winston-Salem, North Carolina, native joined the RiverHawks staff after spending the 2013 season at Ellsworth Community College with current NSU defensive coordinator Josh Lattimer. Bohannon was in charge of coaching the secondary and served as the strength and conditioning coordinator. He helped coach three all-conference performers and one All-American cornerback.
Bohannon was an all-conference cornerback and team captain in high school, and he also had a successful collegiate career at Winston-Salem State University. He started 41 games in his four years as a member of the Rams, and he finished his career with 113 tackles, five pass breakups, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
Upon graduation, Bohannon played in the Professional Indoor Football League for two years with the Alabama Hammer and one season as a member of the Columbus Lions. He started at cornerback for both clubs.
He began his coaching career at his alma mater, North Forsyth High School, where he was in charge of coaching the secondary in 2011-12.
Bohannon graduated from Winston Salem State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in therapeutic recreation. He graduated in 2015 with a Master of Science degree in health and kinesiology from Northeastern State.Â
