The 2016 season is the fourth overall for Will Skeans at NSU. He served as a graduate assistant in 2012-13 and returned for his second stint with the program prior to the 2015 campaign as the strength and conditioning coordinator. He also coaches the linebackers.
Skeans spent six years coaching in the prep ranks prior to his first stint at NSU with his final stop coming at Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri.
Skeans is a graduate of Ozark High School where he was a member of the football and basketball squads. He was rated as one of the nation’s top hitting defensive backs and signed with Kansas State University. While at Kansas State the team played in the first bowl game in school history and was considered as one of the greatest turnarounds in college football history.
Skeans finished his football career at Evangel University where the Crusaders claimed the No. 1 national ranking and back-to-back conference titles. Skeans led the Crusaders in interceptions and was a top tackler.
He graduated in 2005 from Drury University with a Bachelor of Science degree in general studies. He also earned a Master of Science degree in health and human performance from NSU in 2014.
