Zach Allen is in his second season at Northeastern State and is the recruiting coordinator and defensive run game coordinator.
Allen comes to Tahlequah after spending two seasons as the head coach at nearby Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and spent 12 years overall with the Norse football staff. Â During his tenure as head coach, the Golden Norse compiled a record of 12-9.
Allen was part of NEO’s Southwest Junior College Football Conference championship teams in 2012 and 2017.
He was the recipient of the Merv Johnson Integrity in Coaching award in 2017.
The American Football College Coaches Association recognized Allen in 2016 as one of the best 30 coaches under the age of 30.
At NEO, Allen has been defensive line coach, special teams’ coach and recruiting coordinator (2010-13), defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and campus director of discipline (2014-17) and run game coordinator, offensive line coach, recruiting coordinator and athletic academic advisor (2018).
Before joining the Golden Norse Staff, Allen was a four-year starter for the Oklahoma State University football team, which included three bowl game appearances. A graduate of Edmond High School, Allen earned his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 2008 and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2011 from Pittsburg State University.
Allen married the former Samantha (Sam) Heinlein on March 10, 2012. Â Sam is originally from Edmond, Oklahoma, and was a four-year letterman for the Cowgirl softball team at Oklahoma State University. She graduated with an Elementary Education degree in 2010. Â The couple has one son (Cash).
