Legend Barrett is in his second season as a Graduate Assistant with Northeastern State University.
Barrett was on the staff that coached a top-three scoring offense in the MIAA (78.1 PPG) for the 2024-25 season. Barrett would assist in the development of a pair of All-MIAA selections in the conference's leading scorer, Trey Phipps, as well as the league's top rebounder in Ethan Blackmon. Barrett helped NSU in making a return to the MIAA Tournament after completing multi-game regular season sweeps over Arkansas-Fort Smith, Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. Additionally, the RiverHawks knocked off the nation's #1-ranked team when defeating Washburn inside the NSU Event Center on Feb. 15.Â
Legend played his freshman year (2019-20) at Texas College, in Tyler, Texas, before playing four seasons (2021-24) at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla. As a sophomore, he was awarded as the Great American Conference (GAC) Distinguished Scholar Athlete. Legend was also named on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist in May of 2024 with a bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Human Performance.
Legend is working toward a master’s degree in the Sports Management Program at Northeastern State University.
