Jacob Bartel is serving in his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the men's and women's golf programs. He was a four-year letterwinner from 2009-13 at Northeastern State prior to joining the coaching staff.
He played in 22 career tournaments and earned a career-best finish of T-7 at the 2013 MSSU Invitational, which also included his lowest career two-round total of 149 (73-76). The best career three-round score and lowest individual score were both carded at the 2013 Bash at the Beach (74-77-66=217). He was also NSU’s top finisher at the 2012 NCAA D-II Midwest/South Central Regional at 224 (75-73-76) and was named a 2013 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. Bartel earned a bachelor of science degree in environmental health and safety management at NSU in 2013, and he is currently working towards a masters degree in kinesiology.
He competed at Sallisaw High School and won the Class 4A State Golf Championship as a junior, finished runner up as a freshman and placed in the top 10 both sophomore and senior years. He is the son of Ron and Debbie Bartel.
