Christian Forbes joins the Northeastern State wrestling staff after an accomplished competitive career and experience developing wrestlers at the collegiate level.
Forbes began his wrestling career at Broken Arrow High School, where he established himself as one of the nation’s premier wrestlers. A five-time Fargo All-American, two-time Oklahoma State Champion and three-time Oklahoma State finalist, Forbes was nationally ranked and signed with the University of Oklahoma as one of the top recruits in the country.
He also earned Pan American silver medals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman competition while capturing four Oklahoma Freestyle State Championships.
At Oklahoma, Forbes competed for the Sooners while continuing to develop at the NCAA Division I level before transitioning into coaching. He has become known for his technical knowledge, strong work ethic and ability to mentor and develop young wrestlers.
“Christian is a tremendous addition to our coaching staff,” said [Coach Pack]. “He has competed at the highest levels of the sport and brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to our program. His passion for wrestling and commitment to helping athletes improve will be invaluable as we continue to build RiverHawks wrestling.”
