The 2020 season is the first for Kyra in the graduate assistant position for the NSU women’s soccer program.
After graduating from Centenary College of Louisiana in May of 2020 with a BA in Biology, Montes joined the NSU coaching staff. Montes was a successful Junior Varsity Head Coach at CE Byrd Highschool during her time in Louisiana and played three years with the Centenary Ladies soccer team under Greg Cathell.
While playing with the Ladies; the Shreveport native was an All-Region First team honoree and three-time first-team All-SCAC honoree. Montes holds the Division III era program records for career goals, game-winning goals in a career, career assists, and career points. She also played with the Nicaraguan National team in two Olympic qualifying games against El Salvador and Costa Rica.
Montes currently coaches a WSA U19 Girls in Hilldale, Oklahoma, and is now working towards her Masters in Health and Sports Science.
