Ashley Lekas

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant
Ashley Lekas joins Northeastern State University as a Graduate Assistant for the RiverHawks women’s wrestling program, bringing competitive experience at the state, national, and international levels.

As former state champion and two-time NAIA national collegiate champion, she has competed successfully across multiple divisions of the sport. Her career includes becoming a U23 World Team Trials champion and part of the National Team for USA, Fargo All-American, US Open All-American, and Grand Prix Spain International silver medalist.

Ashley also spent time as a resident athlete in the U.S. Olympic Training Center, training alongside national team coaches and senior-level athletes. She hopes the diverse background of training environments supports the wrestlers in their growth on the mat in technical improvement, athletic development, and long-term progression.

Beyond coaching, Ashley is currently pursuing professional development in project and resource management, strengthening the organizational and leadership skills that support both team operations and athlete development. She is also in the early stages of launching Christ in Combat, a sports ministry designed to serve athletes in wrestling, Juijistu, MMA, and other combat sports. The ministry focuses on mentorship, personal and athletic development, and building a positive community for competitors navigating the unique pressures of high-level combat athletics.
