Terry Pack was named the inaugural head coach of the Northeastern State University men’s wrestling program, bringing with him a legacy of championship success and national recognition. A USA Gold-Certified head coach, Pack arrives in Tahlequah with an extensive résumé spanning collegiate and international competition.
Over eight seasons at the NJCAA level, Pack has compiled a combined 145-23 record coaching both men’s and women’s programs, including a 128-22 mark as a men’s head coach. His leadership has produced a national championship (2000-01), 14 individual national champions and 44 All-Americans.
Pack’s excellence has been recognized repeatedly, earning NJCAA Coach of the Year honors along with five NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year awards. In 2000, he was named Men’s National Coach of the Year, and in 2023, he earned Women’s National Coach of the Year recognition — a rare distinction that highlights his ability to build championship programs across divisions.
His impact extends beyond the collegiate ranks, having served as a U.S. Senior World Team coach and U.S. Cadet World Team coach.
At Neosho County Community College, Pack led the men’s program to a 101-17 record over six seasons and guided the women’s team to an undefeated 11-0 campaign. He later directed Southeast Community College to consecutive standout seasons, including a 12-2 record in 2023-24 and a 15-3 mark in 2024-25, with the program earning a No. 4 national ranking.
As a competitor, Pack was a collegiate All-American and earned 116 career victories, laying the foundation for a coaching career defined by discipline, vision and sustained excellence.
At Northeastern State, Pack is charged with launching the RiverHawks’ men’s wrestling program and building a culture centered on championship performance and student-athlete development. His proven ability to establish winning traditions positions the program for immediate competitiveness and long-term success.
