Senior Charter Lawson defeated 24 of the nation's top 100-ranked women's golfers this past week and finished one stroke out of first place to help No. 17 Northeastern State finish runner-up at the Mustang Intercollegiate. Lawson landed in solo fifth at 1-under 143 (70-73) and finished a tournament under par for the first time in her career. She also bested 10 of the nation's top-50 golfers, including No. 4 Ann Parmerter of Dallas Baptist, No. 12 Jenn Paul of Western Washington and No. 23 Sierra Langlie of Augustana. Her 70 in the opening round was the low score for a RiverHawks team that shot even-par 288, marking the lowest score in relation to par ever recorded in a single round in school history. NSU defeated 11 nationally-ranked teams and six teams ranked in the top 20.
