Lindenwood Bests NSU for League Title

Northeastern State falls in MIAA Championship, 1-0, to No. 16 Lindenwood

OLATHE, Kan. – The No. 14-ranked Northeastern State men's soccer fell 1-0 to No. 16 Lindenwood in the 2012 MIAA Championship match Saturday afternoon at Olathe District Activities Center.
 
The RiverHawks (12-4-3) were bested by the top seed and regular-season champion Lions (15-2-3), and the green and white will now await their fate when the 2012 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship brackets are released Nov. 5.
 
The lone goal of the match came from Brett Humes in the 82nd minute off an assist from Azeem Razwan.
 
Sophomore midfielder Josue Morales led Northeastern State with five shots, but the team was outshot 13-11 by LWU.
 
Senior goalkeeper Jordan Ladbrooke (9-5-2) collected three saves and allowed the lone goal in 90 minutes of action. Fermin Hughes (15-2-3) saved all four RiverHawk shots on goal and picked up the win.
