NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH RANDY GIPSON
On the school-record 15 made three-point baskets…
“Shooting is a fragile part of the game. It's there some days and some days it isn't. When you get it going, you just go with it and you're happy about it. Hopefully by now everyone is aware of the kind of shooters Taylor (Lewis) and Tosha (Tyler) are, but I was encouraged by the fact that some of our younger players got in the flow today. It's nice to know that we can get those kinds of points from multiple places. Hopefully today will be a good confidence builder for everybody.”

On Chelsey Stricklen and Taylor Collins combining for 25 points…
“We see those kids every day in practice show they can shoot the ball. I think breaking out in a conference game situation is something that can only help them to have confidence as we roll on throughout the rest of the year.”

On holding their second-straight opponent to less than 20 first-half points…
“Our defense is pretty alert. Our kids are doing a good job of helping each other and being aware of where the ball is and where their man is. They're playing good team defense. We weren't quite as sharp in the second half, but overall I think it was a good defensive performance for our team today.”

On the upcoming three-game road trip…
“I just want us to keep getting better a day at a time. Offensive execution, defense and rebounding are things you are always paying attention to. Every game presents new challenges, and just trying to meet those challenges each night is a big task. We've got a huge one Wednesday. Central Missouri is as talented as anybody in Division II. We'll have our work cut out for us up there.”
