NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH RANDY GIPSON
Statement…
"We didn't come out with the defensive intensity that we had been playing with over the past few games. We played a Washburn team that was really hot shooting the ball in the first half. A lack of alertness on defense contributed to Washburn's performance somewhat. We had trouble making shots in the zone. (Washburn) was on top of their game tonight. I think emotionally and physically our girls weren't into the game as much as we needed them to be. For whatever reason, Washburn threw our concentration off. We are going to rest tomorrow and then we just have to get back to work. We play a great Pittsburg State team on the road Wednesday. We have to come out and play with better intensity and focus. We just need to have a better focus on the game plan."
