2014 MIAA Football Academic Honor Roll IÂ
Scholar-AthletesKANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2014 MIAA Academic Honor Roll recipients for football were announced Friday by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

Northeastern State placed 14 members of the squad on the honor roll. Those included eight offensive players, five defensive players and one specialist.

Kyle Matheson was named an MIAA Scholar-Athlete.

Overall, there were 271 MIAA Students-Athletes in football named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
Â
To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
Â
Of those 271 student-athletes, 24 earned the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, which is given to those who have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors.

Newcomers and MIAA Academic Excellence Awards will be given out following the end of the 2014-15 school year.
