Northeastern State football coach Robinson adds 13 student-athletes on Signing Day

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State football coach Rob Robinson announced Wednesday the addition of 13 high school seniors and four mid-year transfers for the 2015 season.
 
NSU has added seven players from the state of Oklahoma, six from Texas, two from Missouri and one each from Arizona and Utah.
 
The RiverHawks will be looking to improve on a 2014 season where the team posted an 0-11 record overall.

Below is a list of all the newest members of the NSU football team (in alphabetical order).
 
Sheldon Estes – DL – 6-3, 320 – Midwest City, Okla. (Midwest City HS)
Sheldon Estes played primarily on the offensive line under coach Darrell Hall at Midwest City High School. He helped lead the Bombers to the state playoffs each of the last two years. He also won state powerlifting championships as both a freshman and sophomore. He is the son of Sheldon Estes.
 
Jason Hand – LB – 6-1, 210 – Edmond, Okla. (Edmond Memorial HS)
Jason Hand was a four-year letterwinner at Edmond Memorial High School. He was named all-conference three times and was all-district as a senior. He led the Bulldogs in tackles each of his final three years. He also competes on the wrestling team and helped the basketball team win a state championship as a sophomore. Hand is the son of Jana Boren and was coached by Justin Meredith.
 
Jarrod Holt – DE – 6-2, 210 – Hartshorne, Okla. (Hartshorne HS)
Jarrod Holt was a two-time all-district performer from Hartshorne High School.
 
Cameron Hunter – WR – 5-9, 170 – McKinney, Texas (McAlester HS)
Cameron Hunter was an all-state receiver at McAlester High School playing for Brian Pratt. He was a three-year letterwinner. Also won a state championship as a freshman playing for Melissa High School. He is the son of Jennifer Ferguson.
 
Aaron Livingston – LB – 6-1, 210 – Marshfield, Mo. (Marshfield HS)
Aaron Livingston competed at Marshfield High School under the guidance of Nick Codutti. As a senior member of the Bluejays, Livingston was named First Team All-District 10 as both a defensive end and a wide receiver. He also landed All-Central Ozarks Conference First Team accolades as a wide receiver and second-team honors as a defensive end. He collected COC Honorable Mention honors both as a junior and a sophomore, and he was named second-team all-district as a junior. He is the son of Clifford and Melissa Livingston.
 
Tyler Scarbrough – OL – 6-4, 250 – Burleson, Texas (Centennial HS)
Tyler Scarbrough was an All-District 8-5A honoree as a senior at Centennial High School. He was coached by Kyle Getter. He was also named to the North American All-Star team for North Texas and was named to the All-Johnson County team. He is the son of John and Claudia Scarbrough.
 
Christopher Shavers – RB – 5-8, 180 – Mesquite, Texas (Dr. John D. Horn HS)
Christopher Shavers was a two-year letterwinner from Dr. John D. Horn High School. He was honored as an All-District 10-6A First Team member senior year and also set the school record for most touchdowns in a single game (6). He was also an academic all-state honorable mention honoree and is a member of the Senior Leadership program and the National Junior Honor Society. He is a member of the honor roll, had perfect attendance, A+ Citizenship and Lighthouse Awards. Shavers also competes on the track team. He was coached in high school by Mike Overton and is the son of Christopher and Rometra Shavers.
 
Riley Smith – DL – 5-11, 245 – McAlester, Okla. (McAlester HS)
Riley Smith was a four-year starter at McAlester High School. He was an all-state performer as a senior and was honored as the team's defensive MVP. He helped lead the Buffaloes to the Class 5A state semifinals all four years, which included an appearance in the championship game as a junior. He also competed on the wrestling team and finished third at the state tournament twice. He was coached by Brian Pratt and is the son of Dwane and Missy Smith.
 
Jason Staggs – OL – 6-2, 270 – Balch Springs, Texas (West Mesquite HS)
Jason Staggs was a two-year letterwinner and captain at West Mesquite High School. He was a first-team all-district performer as a senior member of the Wranglers under coach Jeff Neill. He is the son of Amy Staggs.
 
Jacob Woodson – DB – 6-0, 185 – Wagoner, Okla. (Wagoner HS)
Jacob Woodson was a Class 4A all-state performer during his time at Wagoner High School. He played under Dale Condict and helped lead the Bulldogs to the state championship in 2014. He was also named all-area, all-district and All-Verdigris Valley Conference. He is the son of Gary and Liz Woodson.
