The RiverHawks (17-25, 7-13 MIAA) lost to Southwest Baptist (18-23, 8-14 MIAA) 8-4 before falling 2-1 in the second game. Â
Bailey Applegate led the way for the RiverHawks. The freshman was 3-for-6. Freshman

Megan Ewton (2-for-6) each recorded two hits. Senior

Northeastern State will next host Arkansas Tech in a nonconference doubleheader April 14. The first game is set to begin at 2 p.m at RiverHawks Park.
SOUTHWEST BAPTIST 8, NORTHEASTERN STATE 4 NSU and SBU remained scoreless through three innings. The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning on an Emily Davis RBI single.
SBU added four additional runs in the fifth inning, including three on a home run by Dana Graves. The team added an extra insurance run in the sixth inning.
The Bearcats pushed across two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on back-to-back doubles by Caitlyn Cooner and Catlin Evans. Â
The RiverHawks got four runs back in the bottom of the seventh inning on RBI singles by Applegate and Boone and an RBI double by Ewton. NSU's seventh inning rally fell short, and the team lost the first game 8-4.
Junior
Kayce Wooldridge (9-10) took the loss for the RiverHawks. She conceded seven runs on 14 hits in 6.0 innings pitched. Wooldridge struck out two and walked one. Sophomore
Krissy Crow threw 1.0 innings in relief, giving up one run on two hits. She struck out two.
SOUTHWEST BAPTIST 2, NORTHEASTERN STATE 1The RiverHawks took the lead in the second inning of the second game. Gann led off the inning with her 11th home run of the season, tying the NSU single season record.
The Bearcats tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third inning on an Evans RBI single up the middle. SBU would take a 2-1 lead the following inning on a leadoff home run by Brittanie Halquist.
NSU was able to get at least two runners on base in each of the last three innings, but were unable to push across any runs, ultimately falling 2-1.
Senior
Laura Fleck (4-4) took the complete game loss for the RiverHawks. She allowed two runs on six hits. Fleck struck out seven Bearcats and walked two.
