TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State men's soccer team will be traveling for two road matches over the next three days. NSU will first meet Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The RiverHawks will then compete against Oklahoma Christian at 2 p.m. Sept. 19 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The RiverHawks are coming off a pair of road losses to Colorado State University – Pueblo and Metropolitan State University of Denver. NSU currently sits at 2-2-0 overall and ranked No.24 in the country.
Trevor Reed has been leading the way offensively for Northeastern State. Reed has four goals through four games.
Jonathan Guzman has also been a contributor on offense with one goal and one assist.
Paul Samia leads the team with two assists. Goalkeeper Eric Shepard hasn't missed a minute in goal and has made 25 saves while allowing only five goals.
Who are the Bison?Oklahoma Baptist University competes in the Great American Conference. The Bison have opened up the season 1-4-0, with their lone win coming over Jarvis Christian College. Junior forward Vincente Castillo is the team's most dangerous scoring threat, with three goals and two assists so far this season. The Bison have collectively this season have been scored on 14 times.
Who are the Eagles?Oklahoma Christian University competes in the Heartland Conference. The Eagles have opened up the season 2-2-0. OCU has outscored its opponents 9-6. Junior forward Anthony Buchanan leads the way on offense with three goals and one assist. Junior midfielder Taylor Vanderford has also been dangerous with two goals of his own. Junior goalkeeper Evan Helker hasn't missed a minute in goal and has allowed six goals while making 12 saves.
