ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The #21 RiverHawks fell 1-0 on a windy Sunday afternoon at Missouri Western in MIAA action.

Corner kicks were the underlying theme of the afternoon with Missouri Western having eight shots to NSU's three.

The game remained scoreless until Missouri Western's seventh corner kick of the afternoon at nearly the 70-minute mark where the Griffons found the net off a deflected pass from three yards out for the go-ahead point.

Northeastern State fended off 13 shots by the Griffons and they made six shots on goal; the RiverHawks had six shots and three at the keeper.  Kelsey McIntyre had two of NSU's shots on goal with Melissa Giles accounting for their third.

Senior goalkeeper Jordan Woodruff grabbed five saves on Sunday to bring her season total to 54.
