ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – In their third overtime match of the year, Northeastern State fell 3-2 on Monday afternoon at Ouachita Baptist.
Joseph Garcia and
Ismael Serratos both kicked in goals for the RiverHawks in the first half of play against the Tigers. Both of NSU's points came in the first 12 minutes of play but three unanswered goals on 28 shots proved to be the difference.
The RiverHawks did hold onto a late 2-1 lead until OBU scored at the 78-minute mark to push the match to extra time.  NSU kicked in three shots in the overtime period with one missing high and OBU's keeper saving the ball the two other times. The Tigers put out a shot at 92-minute mark before they ended the contest five minutes later.
Garcia and Serratos' goals were their second of the season.Â
Ouachita Baptist edged the RiverHawks by two with 28 shots and had three additional corner kicks with ten; Garcia had nine shots overall and six on goal.
The loss will send NSU to 5-6 overall with OBU going to 7-7 in non-conference play.
Northeastern State will return home to face Upper Iowa on Thursday at 7 p.m.
