TAHLEQUAH, OK- The Northeastern State men's soccer team could not hang with offensive minded Fort Hays State in a 4-1 loss at Deloach Field here Sunday afternoon.
The RiverHawks fall to 4-5-0 and 1-2 in conference action, the Tiger improve to 6-2-1 and 2-0.
Fort Hays tallied the match's first goal just 1:30 in as Derick Gonzalez laced one off the post past NSU keeper Ryan Davis for a 1-0 lead.
The RiverHawks found the equalizer 10 minutes later a Ismael Serratos off a cross from Juan Amaro to knot the match at 1-1.
It was all Tigers from that point on, FHSU would score twice more in the first half for a 3-1 halftime advantage.Â
Fort Hays used an early second half goal to finish off the 4-1 victory.
Next match for the RiverHawks will be on October 6 as it will take on Southern Nazarene in Bethany OK. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
