BETHANY, Okla. – Northeastern State calmed the Crimson Storm with a 5-1 victory at Southern Nazarene on Thursday night in non-conference action.
The RiverHawks (5-5) scored a season high five goals against SNU on 26 shots to move back up to .500 overall. Â NSU spread the scoring with all five shots coming from different student-athletes;
Joseph Garcia contributed in a big way with three assists.
Nikolai Solomon scored quickly in the contest at the 4:06 mark off of a pass from Garcia to put NSU up 1-0. NSU picked up their second goal of the period twenty minutes later off a chip shot over the keeper by
Aaron Ugbah; Garcia would be credited with his second assist of the match.
Following the intermission, NSU went up by three with the Crimson Storm scoring on their own goal at the 50-minute mark. The RiverHawks continued to attack SNU and
Juan Amaro scored at 70:38 on a 15 yard shot from the left side to go up by four;
Trevor Reed was credited with his first assist of the season.
The Crimson Storm would end the NSU shutout bid with 14 minutes remaining in the contest with a goal off a cross over shot.  However, NSU's Reed returned the favor off a pass from Garcia at the 78:57 mark for his fifth goal of the year. Â

Jackson Biles played 66:57 in front of the net for NSU with five saves.Â
With the loss to NSU, Southern Nazarene will fall to 1-10 this year.
The RiverHawks will return to MIAA play on Oct. 12 with a trip to Southwest Baptist.
