#23 RiverHawks Take Down Ichabods

 

TAHLEQUAH, OK- #23 Northeastern State remained unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Washburn in MIAA conference action at Deloach Field here Sunday afternoon.

The RiverHawks move to 10-0 and 3-0 in conference play, while the Ichabod's fall to 5-4-1 and 1-2.

NSU's Alexis Carson scored the only goal of the match three minutes into contest off a free kick from Mikayla Carlson for the 1-0 advantage and would make it hold to pick up the victory.

The shutout is the seventh for the RiverHawks in the 10 games.

Northeastern State outshot Washburn 22- 4 which included a 15-2 advantage in the first half.

Jordan Woodruff improved her mark to 10-0 as well, and MIAA goal leader Julia Mathis narrowly missed adding to her total missing a penalty kick in the second.

The RiverHawks next two contests will be at Deloach field, taking on Lindenwood on Friday October 7th at 7:00 pm.  Then #2 ranked Central Missouri comes to town on Sunday October 9th, game time is set for 1:00 pm.
