KEARNEY, Neb. – Northeastern State went 14 matches in a row without going to overtime but they have played two in the last 72 hours on their longest road trip of the year. The RiverHawks picked up a goal in the first half and played into a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes of play on Sunday afternoon at Nebraska-Kearney.
This is NSU's first tie of the season and first since Oct. 31, 2015 at Southwest Baptist. On Friday, the RiverHawks went to double overtime at Fort Hays State but fell 1-0 in the 103rd minute to the Lady Tigers.

Julia Mathis were both credited with assists. Â Â The goal by NSU ended nearly 360 straight minutes of shutout play by UNK who have won three in a row and drew a tie in their last four matches; on Friday, the Lopers upset Central Oklahoma 1-0 in overtime.
Nebraska-Kearney evened the match at nearly the 66-minute mark on a shot from inside the box for the afternoon's only other goal.
Both teams took 11 shots with NSU attacking the net six times, one more than UNK. The RiverHawks had five corner kicks to UNK's one.
The draw will bring Northeastern State to 12-3-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the MIAA, Nebraska-Kearney goes to 6-7-3 overall and 3-4-2 in league play.
With two regular season matches left before the MIAA Tournament, the RiverHawks will travel to Edmond to face Central Oklahoma on Oct. 28 at 4 p.m.
