NSU falls in top-20 battle

TAHLEQUAH – In what was billed as the top NCAA Division II women's soccer match of the day, the #19 Northeastern State RiverHawks saw their perfect season come to an end at home on Sunday against #2 Central Missouri.  UCM scored a goal in each period for their tenth shutout in eleven matches this year.

Trailing by one in the second period the RiverHawks nearly tied the game on a header that caught the top part of the Jennie goalkeeper at the 53:20 mark.  Just seconds later, NSU missed on a shot from in the box that hit the post.

After battling for another 20 minutes, UCM scored their second goal of the afternoon for added insurance.
