MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northeastern State baseball team lost 6-5 to Northwest Missouri State Saturday afternoon at Bearcat Field.

The RiverHawks (6-5) lost their second in a row to drop to 0-2 in the MIAA, while the Bearcats (7-4) are now 2-0 in the league after earning their second-straight walkoff victory over NSU.

Jake Kern (0-1) took the loss after giving up the game-winning run in the final 1.2 frames.

Ozzie Adams and Nick Gotta paced the home team with two hits each. Adams and Jake Lewis both scored twice.

Anthony Caenepeel threw the first 6.0 innings and gave up two runs on five hits. He struck out seven and walked just one. Bryce Shea (2-0) threw the final 3.0 frames to collect his second-straight win over NSU. He allowed one unearned run on just two hits. He struck out four and walked one.
