Rob Robinson announced the addition of 26 high school seniors for the 2016 season.

NSU has added 15 players from the state of Oklahoma, four from both Texas and Missouri and two from Arkansas. The class is extremely balanced, consisting of 13 offensive and 13 defensive players.

The RiverHawks will be looking to improve on a 2015 season where the team posted a 3-8 record overall.

NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH ROB ROBINSON"The 2016 signing class has covered multiple needs. The past two seasons we had to overcome many adversaries that impacted recruiting. This year we were able to hit the ground running full speed and NSU football got 26 high school recruits. My coaching staff went and got talented players that will merge in seamlessly with our current players. As I said before, it's important to get Oklahoma players and I'm proud to say that 15 of our signees are from Oklahoma."

Isaac Barham – OL – 6-4, 300 – Bartlesville, Okla. (Bartlesville HS)Isaac Barham was a four-year letterwinner for John McKee at Bartlesville High School. He was named by OK Preps to the 2015 All-State Second Team. He was also honored on the 2015
Tulsa World All-Metro First Team. He is the son of Rebecca Barham.

George Brooks – DL – 6-2, 260 – Allen, Texas (Allen HS)George Brooks was a three-year letterwinner under Tom Westerberg at Allen High School. He helped lead AHS to the state championship his sophomore and junior years, and he was also twice selected as a first-team all-district performer (2014-15). He is the son of Britt and Karen Brooks.

Keaton Burroughs – RB – 6-0, 200 – Webb City, Mo. (Webb City HS)Keaton Burroughs was a first team all-state performer at Webb City High School. He led WCHS to two state championships and one state runner-up effort senior year. He was also named to the all-conference first team, all-area first team and the all-district first team. WCHS won three conference and district championships during his career. Burroughs amassed 2,611 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns in his three years. He was also a varsity letterwinner as a member of the track team. He is the son of Jerome and Angie Burroughs. His father was a running back at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

Andrew Clark – LB – 6-2, 230 – Fort Smith, Ark. (Southside HS)Andrew Clark was a three-year letterwinner at Southside High School, and he helped lead the Rebels to the state semifinals each of his final three years. He was a two-time all-conference honoree, and he is the son of Michael and Vikki Clark.

William Clements – OL – 6-3, 325 – Fort Smith, Ark. (Northside HS)Williams Clements competed at Northside High School as a member of the Grizzlies. He was named to the All-Arkansas Preps First Team and the All-Arkansas Varsity team as a senior. He was also a three-time all-conference selection. He is the son of Deborah Barlow.

Chris Cohen – WR – 6-1, 165 – Edmond, Okla. (Millwood HS)Chris Cohen was a three-year letterwinner for Millwood High School under the guidance of Darwin Franklin. He was a 2A All-District cornerback as a senior, and he was also honored as the 2A All-District kick returner of the year. MHS advanced to the state championship game his sophomore year after posting an undefeated regular season. Cohen also won four state track championships in his career. He is the son of Lloyd Cohen and Stacie Tottress.

Cole Dixon – LB – 6-1, 205 – Sand Springs, Okla. (Sand Springs HS)Cole Dixon was named an all-state honorable mention selection by the
Tulsa World during his senior year at Sand Springs High School. He was coached by Dustin Kinard. He was honored as the 6A-2 All-District Co-Defensive Player of the Year his senior year, and he was also selected as a 6A All Star by the Oklahoma Coaches Association. He was named first team all-district and was the team's special teams player of the year. He helped lead the Sandites to the state championship finals in 2015. He is the son of Christie Barrett Rice.

Caleb Hash – OL – 6-2, 295 – Shawnee, Okla. (Shawnee HS)Caleb Hash is a product of Shawnee High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner under the guidance of Billy Brown. He was named to the all-state honorable mention team his senior year and was also a 5A-3 all-district honoree. He helped guide the Wolves to three playoff appearances, which included making two trips to the quarterfinals. He also placed third in the Oklahoma State powerlifting meet his junior year. He is the son of John and Janet Hash.

Nathan Herring – LB – 5-11, 235 – McAlester, Okla. (McAlester HS)Nathan Herring hails from Class 5A McAlester High School, where he was coached by James Singleton. He was named an all-star and to the all-district team his senior year. He was a finalist for Mr. Football by
VYPE Magazine, and he was also named to the
VYPE Top 100 list in Oklahoma. He was also honored as the area's defensive MVP and the team's defensive player of the year. He helped lead MHS to back-to-back bi-district championships. He competed for Hartshorne High School for his freshman and sophomore years where he led them to the state playoffs (freshman). He was a second-team all-district honoree sophomore year. Herring also competes in powerlifting, where he is a regional champion and a state runner up. He is the son of Billy and Stacy Herring. His father, Billy, competed as a member of the track team at Southwest Christian College. His older brother, Dallas, is currently a junior running back at East Central University.

Richard Johnson – WR – 6-1, 195 – Owasso, Okla. (Owasso HS)Richard Johnson was a three-year letterwinner for Bill Patterson at Owasso High School. He was a three-time Player of the Week recipient from the
Owasso Reporter and was OHS's leading receiver his junior year. He is the son of Kevin and LaCher Thompson. Johnson's father played on NSU's 1994 NAIA National Championship team that was inducted into the NSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.

Dominique Jones – OL/DL – 6-2, 250 – Oklahoma City, Okla. (Douglass HS)Dominique Jones only surrendered two sacks his senior year at Douglass High School under Willis Alexander. He was named to the Class 3A-2 All-District First Team and was named to the All-City Athletic Conference First Team. The team captain landed Little All-City Honorable Mention accolades. On the defensive side of the ball, Jones recorded 55 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, eight sacks and one fumble recovery as a senior. He is the son of Johnny Jones and Tara Williams.

Xavier Mason – DL – 6-2, 240 – Oklahoma City, Okla. (Douglass HS)Xavier Mason was a Class 3A All-State defensive lineman his senior year at Douglass High School for coach Willis Alexander. He was honored as the Class 3A-2 All-District Defensive Player of the Year and was the All-City Athletic Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year.
The Oklahoman named him an all-state honorable mention, and he landed on the Little All-City Second Team. He registered 82 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and one fumble recovery his senior year. He is the son of Jelessa Mason.

Jacory Miller – DE – 6-2, 210 – Lufkin, Texas (Lufkin HS)Jacory Miller was a two-year letterwinner at Lufkin High School, where he was a second team all-district performer as a senior. He is the son of Rory and Gwendolyn Miller.

Shane Moore – RB/LB – 5-11, 220 – Eufaula, Okla. (Eufaula HS)Shane Moore competed at Eufaula High School under Larry Newton, Jr. He helped lead the Ironheads to the regional playoffs as both a junior and senior. During his career, he amassed more than 4,000 yards rushing and 50 touchdowns. He is the son of Wendy Moore.

Kobe Morgan – DB – 6-1, 180 – Dewey, Okla. (Dewey HS)Kobe Morgan competed for Dewey High School under the tutelage of Asheley Henley. He was an all-state honorable mention selection his senior year in Class 3A-5. He tallied 212 tackles in his final two years and was the team's two-time defensive player of the year. He also advanced to the state powerlifting competition twice and played on the baseball team that finished 42-3 and advanced to the state championship game sophomore year. He is the son Julie Morgan.

Lesslie Morgan – OL/DL – 6-4, 280 – Muldrow, Okla. (Muldrow HS)Lesslie Morgan was an all-district athlete and captain at Muldrow High School for Terry Jones. He was named the MHS offensive lineman of the year his junior year, and he also competed as a member of the track team. He is the son of Fred and Kellie Lesslie.

Trevon Overstreet – LB/RB – 6-2, 220 – Drumright, Okla. (Drumright HS)Trevon Overstreet played for Chuck Terry at Drumright High School, where he was named the District A-6 Running Back of the Year as a senior. The four-year letterwinner helped lead the Tornadoes to the state playoffs in 2015. He was also a Class A All-Star as a senior, and was a
Tulsa World All-State Honorable Mention junior year. Overstreet qualified for the state powerlifting meet his junior year and was a football all-district selection sophomore year. He also played baseball and basketball during his career. He is the son of Billy Don and Morella Overstreet. His father, was also an all-state football player at DHS.

Tyler Puckett – DE – 6-5, 225 – Republic, Mo. (Republic HS)Tyler Puckett played for three years at Republic High School for Wes Beachler. He was a second-team all-state performer this past year and was a two-time all-area and all-district award winner. He also competed for the basketball team that won the state championship in 2013. He is a National Honor Society member and an academic all-state honoree. He is the son of Lynn and Helen Puckett. His mother, Helen, was a collegiate volleyball player at Indiana State University.

Aaron Samek – WR – 6-3, 190 – Bolivar, Mo. (Bolivar HS)Aaron Samek heads to Tahlequah after competing for Lance Roweton at Bolivar High School, where he was a two-time all-conference and two-time all-area honoree. He is the son of Mike and Tamara Samek. His older brother Isaac, played four years for William Penn University, while his older brother, Eli, played at Southwest Baptist University.

Austin Sargent – OL – 6-3, 285 – Rockwall, Texas (Rockwall HS)Austin Sargent was an
Associated Press Texas Class 6A All-State Second Team honoree and team captain his senior year at Rockwall High School. He was coached by Rodney Webb. He was also named to the all-state honorable mention team junior year. He was named All-District 11-6A First Team as a senior and was an honorable mention as a junior. He was also a member of the honor roll and is the son of Scott and Deanna Sargent. His grandfather, Marc Allen, played for the Baltimore Colts (1967-69) and the Cleveland Browns (1969-70).

Johnny Scott – WR – 6-1, 195 – Bolivar, Mo. (Bolivar HS)Johnny Scott was an all-state performer at Bolivar High School for Lance Roweton. He received numerous accolades his senior year, including being named first-team all-state as a wide receiver and second team all-state as a punter. He earned first team All-COC honors at three different positions and was also a first team All-Southwest Missouri wide receiver and defensive back. He is also a member of the basketball team, where he earned first-team all-district honors as the team's starting point guard. He helped lead the basketball team to fourth place in the state tournament as a junior. He is the son of Gregg and Jill Scott.

Tyler Skeen – DB – 6-4, 185 – Wagoner, Okla. (Wagoner HS)Tyler Skeen helped lead Wagoner High School the Oklahoma Class 4A State Championship in 2014 and 2015. He was selected as an all-state honorable mention and an all-area first team member. He is the son of Ron and Tammy Skeen.

Marcus Taylor – WR – 6-3, 195 – Lawton, Okla. (MacArthur HS)Marcus Taylor was a three-year letterwinner under the guidance of Brett Manning at MacArthur High School. He landed all-district accolades this past year after posting more than 700 yards receiving. He helped lead MHS to the Oklahoma Class 5A State Championship. He was also a letterwinner as a member of the basketball team. He is the son of Harold and Janet Taylor

LaVonte' White – DB – 6-1, 170 – Lufkin, Texas (Lufkin HS)LaVonte' White was a four-year letterwinner at Lufkin High School under the tutelage of Todd Quick. He was honored as the team's defensive back of the year as a senior. He also qualified for the regional competition his junior year in the 110m hurdles as a member of the track team. He is the son of Michael White and Porshia Cole.

Stephen Youmons – OL – 6-2, 280 – Lawton, Okla. (Lawton HS)Stephen Youmons is an OCA All-State honoree from Lawton High School, where he was coached by Randy Breeze. He was named to the 6A-2 All-District team this past year, while leading the Wolverines to their third-straight district championship. He was named to the 6A West All-Star team and was a two-time captain. He is the son of Steve and Peggy Youmons. He father, Steve, played basketball at Cameron University and is the school's all-time leading scorer. His grandfather, Tommy, was an academic All-American that was drafted by the Washington Redskins after a successful career at the University of Southern Mississippi.
