RiverHawks blow out Concordia St. Paul, 12-2, in five innings

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – For the second game in row Northeastern State's bats remained hot with a 12-2 win in five innings over Concordia St. Paul on Saturday.

The RiverHawks hammered out 13 hits on the Golden Bears (1-7) with Paige Gann having a four RBI afternoon, thanks to a three run blast in the second inning.

"Good to see our bats come alive the last two games," said head coach Clay Davis.  "We has a total of 25 hits in two games which is what we have expected from this offense.   Everyone is starting to get comfortable at the plate and really understating what we expect."

"Sylver (Collins) wasn't her sharpest today but still battled and found another win for us. We need to see if we can keep it rolling tomorrow with two tough games."

Northeastern State jumped out early with three runs in the first with Carlee Gann, Haley Acrey, and Ryan Martin all having a RBI.   The Gann sisters did the damage in the second with Carlee picking up her second RBI of the game and Paige hitting her first homer of the season.  Acrey followed up with a homer to put NSU up 8-0 on CSP.

In the third Harmon hit a sac fly and then she picked up her second RBI of the game in the fifth to put the RiverHawks up 10-0.  The Gann's tacked on two more runs with Carlee getting her third RBI on a ground out, and Paige scoring Baylee Ratliff on a single.

Concordia scored its lone runs in the fifth on a two-run homer.

Sylver Collins (4-1) tossed a complete game for the RiverHawks as they go to 5-4 this season.

Northeastern State will return to the field on Sunday to face Drury and East Central to wrap up the classic.
