SHAWNEE -- An eight run fifth inning by Oklahoma Baptist handed Northeastern State a 15-2 road loss on Tuesday night.
The final score was a contrast to the first four innings which went scoreless for both teams. Oklahoma Baptist sent 13 batters up in the fifth where they rattled off eight hits on Northeastern State's pitching.Â
NSU left the bases loaded on three walks in the second and were no-hit through five innings.  The RiverHawks finished the night with three hits while drawing five walks on the Bison.
Oklahoma Baptist extended their lead to 13-0 on NSU after a five run sixth inning before the RiverHawks plated their lone two runs in the seventh. However, two more OBU runs would cross home in the bottom half of the inning.
The Bison (9-8) tallied 20 hits on NSU who used five pitchers on the hill.Â
Shayne Warren (1-1) started the game and went 4 1/3 innings in the loss.
Dakota Woods had NSU's lone RBI and a hit.Â
A total of 20 Northeastern State players would see playing time against the Bison with a scheduled off weekend in MIAA play coming up.
Tuesday's loss sends the RiverHawks to 9-7 and they will travel to UA-Fort Smith on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
