Crick hits game-winner as RiverHawks split with Rogers State

CLAREMORE – Northeastern State split their midweek non-conference match with Rogers State, falling 10-1 in the opener and Sierra Crick hit an eventual game winning RBI double to edge a 7-6 win on Tuesday night.

Crick had three of NSU's seven hits in the nightcap with a homer coming in the third inning.  After Rogers State tied the game at four in the bottom of the third, Ryan Martin put the RiverHawks ahead on a two RBI double to right field.

The Hillcats (25-15) tied the game in the sixth on RBI doubles before Crick hit her seventh double of the season for the go-ahead run.

Sylver Collins made the start for NSU and went 3 2/3 innings, Jennifer Wolf (11-7) came out of the bullpen and threw the remaining part of the contest with four strikeouts.

Crick finished the game with three RBI, Jess Schuler had a hit and two RBI.

Tuesday's opener was a different story for the RiverHawks who clung onto a 1-0 lead through the first three innings.   The Hillcats scored in each of the final three frames to run-rule the RiverHawks in six innings.

Taryn Gray (5-9) and Mollie Carter both appeared for NSU in the circle.

The doubleheader was NSU's (23-22) last non-conference event of the season and they will return to MIAA play on Saturday to host Central Oklahoma for senior day.
