Butch Rea singled in his final at-bat to push his hitting streak to 23 games but Northeastern State fell on in a lopsided 15-3 contest at Central Missouri on Sunday afternoon.

All three of the RiverHawks' runs came in the final frame with
Blake Vandegrift scoring on a UCM wild pitch and picking their second run on a throwing error. Rea had the lone RBI for NSU in their final run of the contest that ended in seven innings.

The loss for the RiverHawks was their sixth in a row, matching their longest of the season.

The Mules (28-12, 19-9 MIAA) scored the majority of their runs in the first three innings, and was highlighted by an eight run third where they sent ten batters up to the plate to go up 12-0 on NSU. Central Missouri added three more in the sixth on a home run.

Northeastern State's pitching staff issued seven walks in the contest, and they were out-hit 9-to-3. Â
Nolan Sturgeon (4-2) did not get past the second inning, and had four earned runs charged in the loss.

The RiverHawks (19-20, 13-15 MIAA) will look to avoid a series sweep on Monday with a 1 p.m. first pitch scheduled.
