PITTSBURG, Kan. –
Kaleigh Hinkle hit her fourth home run of the season but she was the RiverHawks lone run of the day after they were swept 8-0 and 12-1 at #RV Pittsburg State.

The two losses send the RiverHawks two games back of Southwest Baptist for eighth place in the MIAA standings.   With the top-eight teams in the standings advancing to the tournament, the RiverHawks will need a sweep on Monday at Missouri Southern and for Lincoln to sweep Southwest Baptist to make the postseason.  The RiverHawks hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with SBU by sweeping the regular season series at Northeastern State.
Washburn who completed the regular season on Sunday is a game ahead of the RiverHawks with a 12-14 league mark; NSU holds the tiebreaker with the Ichabods by sweeping the doubleheader in Tahlequah.

Northeastern State (23-26, 11-13 MIAA) had four hits combined in the doubleheader and avoided getting no-hit thanks to a
Sierra Crick single with two-outs in the sixth during the opener.

In the nightcap, an eight run first by the Gorillas took the air out of the sails for NSU; Pitt State (41-13, 18-6 MIAA) added three more in the second inning and their 12th run in the third.   Hinkle's home run opened the fifth as one of their three hits.

Jennifer Wolf (11-10) started both games for the RiverHawks and was charged with the losses.

First pitch in the doubleheader at Missouri Southern starts at 2 p.m.
