Paulina Chavez netted a pair of second half goals as the RiverHawks rolled past Southern Nazarene in a 4-0 season opener shutout on Thursday afternoon.Â
Northeastern State after a pair of early defensive missteps to allow the Crimson Storm attack the net, the RiverHawks doubled-up SNU with 22 shots on the net.Â
Melissa Giles kicked in the team's first goal of the season in front of the net as the team's lone point of the half. Chavez's goals came in the second half and within two minutes apart to widen the NSU lead to three.Â
Avery Tubb added the RiverHawks' fourth goal and her first just before time expired to cap the opener.
Meg Smith in her first career start had a shutout with eight saves.
The RiverHawks had four corner kicks in both halves and 13 shots on goal.
Northeastern State will continue their home stand with Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday at 7 p.m.
