ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – For the first time since 2012, the RiveHawks have opened the season with four straight shutouts following their 3-0 win on Sunday afternoon at Ouachita Baptist.
NSU senior transfer
Jessie Lynch powered the RiverHawks with a pair of second half goals to bring her season total to four.Â
The match was even through the first 50 minutes where
Mariah Nicolet broke the contest open and Lynch ten minutes later picked up the goal off of a steal for their second point.  Just minutes later, Lynch was at it again and she picked up a pass from
Paulina Chavez to score on a cross.
Unlike Friday's match with Harding,
Meg Smith had a quiet day from inside the box with two saves on eight shots from OBU.  Northeastern State had eight with nine corner kicks.Â
Sunday's win was the first for NSU (4-0) on the road and Ouachita Baptist falls to 1-1-2 this season.Â
Northeastern State returns to action on Friday to face Central Oklahoma in Edmond at 4 p.m.
