ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Northeastern State suffered its fourth shutout of the season on Friday evening and fell 2-0 at Missouri Western.
The RiverHawks dropped to 7-6-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the MIAA, the Griffons go to 11-4 and are 6-2 in league play.
Missouri Western went ahead on a goal in the sixth minute and iced the contest with a second in the final ten minutes.
Northeastern State's offense was limited to nine shots with two them being on-goal. The Griffons more than doubled NSU's shot total with 21 and had ten shots on-goal.
The RiverHawks will remain on the road and will face Northwest Missouri on Sunday with a 12:30 p.m. start slated.
