#19 NSU men's soccer shuts out Harding, 1-0

SEARCY, Ark. – Joe Garcia scored a goal for his tenth consecutive match to lift the #19-ranked RiverHawks to a 1-0 win over Harding on the road Friday evening.  The shutout is the third for the RiverHawks this season who improve to 8-1-1 and the 19th win in a row over Harding who falls to 6-4-1 overall.

Garcia scored his 11th goal of the season in the 17th minute on a tap in off a pass from Ben Watson

Most of the firepower came from Garcia on Friday with the senior having four of the team's seven shots on goal.

NSU was challenged late and withstood three corner kicks by Harding in the final two minutes.

Goalkeeper Thomas Salenbien had two saves and earned his second shutout of the season.

Garcia's streak of ten consecutive matches with a goal is now tied for sixth longest in NCAA Division II men's soccer.  The streak is a MIAA and NSU record.

The RiverHawks will travel to Southwest Baptist for MIAA play on Sunday for a 1 p.m. start.
