RiverHawks rally past SBU behind Mouse's career night

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Tanner Mouse's career evening drove the RiverHawks to an improbable come-from-behind 78-71 win at Southwest Baptist.   The NSU junior had 14 of his 22 points in the final 11 minutes of the contest to pull the RiverHawks (7-14, 3-9 MIAA) out of an 18-point deficit and hand SBU (11-10, 5-7 MIAA) their third consecutive home.

Northeastern State did not lead until Mouse hit a jumper with 3:34 remaining (66-64) to complete a 26-9 run on the Bearcats where they shot 10-for-13.  The RiverHawks never looked back and ran away for their first MIAA win at Bolivar in their fourth try.

Behind Mouse in scoring was Trent Cantrell who had 13 points off of the NSU bench.  Cantrell was the other half of the NSU duo in the final 11 minute run and scored ten points, connecting on four of his five final shots of the evening.   Both Jamir Andrews and Montre' Williams hit double figures for NSU with 11 points each.

NSU's bench accounted for 47 of the RiverHawks' 78 points on a night that they were out-rebounded 45-to-31; Williams paced the RiverHawks with five rebounds.

From the field, the RiverHawks shot below the Bearcats going 43.1 percent (25-58), while Southwest Baptist was 46.2 percent on their side of the floor.  Both teams were 8-for-24 from the arc.
