RiverHawks shutout Georgia College, 5-0

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Northeastern State made quick work of Georgia College 5-0 in a twice delayed contest on Monday.  The RiverHawks (9-3) swept its third opponent this season with the match starting late and being delayed for roughly five hours.

Doubles action was halted midway through due to rain with the RiverHawks largely in control on all three courts.  When play resumed, Northeastern State came away with a clean sweep to take a 3-nil advantage.

With the lead and delays, play only continued to five points.  Karla Tomaic won in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-3 and No. 23 Tatjana Stoll was dominant and swept No. 33 Jena Kelly in straight sets.

The loss to the RiverHawks sends Georgia College to 7-4 overall.  Northeastern State continues play on Tuesday where they will face No. 5 West Florida.
