Big second half propels NSU to 6-2 win over Missouri Southern

TAHLEQUAH – Four goals in the second half by Northeastern State soared them past Missouri Southern to a 6-2 win on Friday evening.  Sarah Rector set the pace for NSU and broke a 2-2  tie out of the half with a goal in the 48th minute.  From there the RiverHawks never looked back to move to 5-0 this season.  Valeria Pankratova book ended the scoring for NSU with their first and sixth goal.  Both goals by MSSU (3-1-1) came off penalty kicks in the final ten minutes of the first half.
 
IN THE BOX SCORE
  • The RiverHawks out-shot Missouri Southern 24-8 and in the second half, it was 15-to-3.
  • Pankratova led NSU with six shots.
  • Paige Lorenzo, Emily Seiler, Taylor Pease, and also had goals for NSU.
  • Haylie Coats saw her first action for the RiverHawks and had one save in the final four minutes.
  • 29 NSU players saw action on Friday night.
