NSU soccer drops heartbreaker to Lopers in double-overtime

KEARNEY, Neb. – Northeastern State dropped an overtime heartbreaker for the second consecutive match with Nebraska-Kearney winning 2-1 in the 110th minute.  The RiverHawks scored their lone goal off the foot of Meagan Chase who kicked-out from 15 feet and got a friendly bounce on the Lopers' crossbar.  Friday's loss to the Lopers (4-5 (2-0 MIAA)) sends the RiverHawks to 6-3 this season and 0-2 in MIAA play.
 
IN THE BOX SCORE
- The RiverHawks out-shot UNK 5-to-1 in the overtime periods and held a 10-to-8 edge in shots taken.
- Lopers scored their game winner with 46 seconds left on the clock on a diving header off a free kick.
- Coldest match of the season for NSU with a temperature recorded at 45 degrees.
