TAHLEQUAH – After multiple weather delays that took longer than the contest itself, the RiverHawks downed Ouachita Baptist 2-0 on Thursday for their third shutout of the season.
The contest opened with a 30-minute delay and managed to get to the 54th minute before play was halted for nearly two hours with NSU up 1-nil.
Flynn Semmerling broke the scoreless contest with a goal in the 47th minute.
When play resumed, Semmerling scored his second goal in the 67th minute to ice the contest.
Thursday was Semmerling's second multi-goal match of the season and third overall. Last season, the sophomore had two against the same Ouachita Baptist squad.
The RiverHawks out-shot the Tigers 18-to-9 with
Justin Hinman credited for the shutout.
Northeastern State improves to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the GAC. The Tigers dropped their third in a row and are now 1-7-2 (1-4-1 GAC).
