SEARCY, Ark. -- The RiverHawks Men's Soccer team dropped a GAC matchup to Harding 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. NSU is now 6-5 on the season with a 4-3 record in conference play. Harding improves to 5-3-1, with a 4-2-0 record in conference action.
The Bison scored in the opening minutes when Joe Ruedi took a pass from Oliver Callado and tapped it in for a 1-0 lead. Joseph Oliver added a second just before halftime from 20-yards out to make it 2-0.
In the 78th minute, Christian Ramos took a pass and put it just under the outstretched arms of goalkeeper
Niklas Kirhoff for the final goal of the game.
Tom Singhgolden led the RiverHawks with four shots and three shots on goal.
James Doyle also had four shots while
Ryan McCully and
Ben Watson both had three shots.
Sam Scarth added two shots for the RiverHawks. Kirhoff had two saves, while
Justin Hinman had four.
As a team, NSU outshot the Bison 20-15, including a 13-6 advantage in the second half. The RiverHawks had nine corner kicks in the game compared to just one for the Bison.
The RiverHawks will return to DeLoache Field on Thursday night to host Newman before hosting rival Fort Hays State Saturday afternoon.
