TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks Men's Soccer team was unable to put together a rally on Thursday night, losing to GAC foe Newman 1-0. With the loss, the RiverHawks are now 6-6 this season and 4-4 in conference action. The Jets improve to 5-4-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play.
The lone goal came in the 19th minute when Victor Lopez converted a breakaway, putting the ball in the lower-left corner of the net to put the Jets up 1-0. The RiverHawks had numerous chances in the second half, including in the 78th minute when they had two shots, but both were stopped by Jean Consol to keep the Jets in the lead.Â

Sadaam Yousufzai both had three shots on goal for the RiverHawks while
Justin Hinman recorded three saves. The RiverHawks had eight corner kicks, compared to just one for the Jets,Â
The RiverHawks will be back at DeLoache Field on Saturday afternoon when they host rival Fort Hays State at 1 p.m.
