BETHANY, Okla. --
Aaron Ugbah scored two goals in the first half to lead the RiverHawks Men's Soccer team to a 2-0 win over Southern Nazarene on Saturday night. The RiverHawks are now 8-6 this season, and 6-4 in conference action. The Crimson Storm fall to 2-10-1 overall and 1-7-1 in conference matches.
Ugbah picked up his first goal off a pass from
Sam Scarth that Ugbah put past the Crimson Storm goalkeeper to put NSU up 1-0. Just nine minutes later he scored again, this time unassisted as he put the ball in the same lower-right corner of the net.Â
The RiverHawks outplayed Southern Nazarene, racking up eight shots, six of which were shots on goal, compared to just five shots for the Crimson Storm, one of which was on goal. That one came in the 75th minute, and was saved by RiverHawks goalkeeper
Justin Hinman for his only save of the night.Â
Ben Watson and
Luis Soler both had two shots, with one shot on goal each.
Tom Singhgolden and
Blake Dumond also had shots on goal for NSU.
The RiverHawks will now get ready for a rare Monday matchup. They will face Okla. Baptist at 6 p.m. in a match that was initially scheduled for Thursday, but was moved due to weather.Â
